The sky over Bexley Park was a sea of yellow and red today as Maypole Primary School held their annual Balloon Race. The event was sponsored by local estate agents Wisdom Estates and the school thanks them for their generous support.
Parent volunteers had a very busy morning inflating nearly 1600 balloons which were then released by the very excited children. It is hoped the windy day will see record distances traveled by the balloons. Already the school has had reports of some of the balloons being found as far away as Belgium!
In addition to being a great day which was enjoyed by children and parents the event raised £1150 for the school which will be used to buy new IT equipment for the children.
