Five NEW acts announced for Dartford Borough Council’s Dartford Festival on 13 & 14 July 2019!

The FREE Dartford Festival is just under a couple of months away now and as well as Lightning Seeds, Bjorn Again, The Farm and James Taylor Quartet, we are excited to announce five new amazing acts!

‘WANNABE’ will be spicing up your life, celebrating the career of the world’s biggest girl band, the Spice Girls. From the chart stomping ‘Spice Up Your Life’ through to the hip shaking ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’; WANNABE will take you on a Spice World journey through the Spice Girls’ group and solo careers.

Next up we have The Dunwells’, who were hugely influenced by Bob Dylan, the Beatles and Motown. Writing and performing their own tracks, these guys have extensively toured the US as well as supporting Bryan Adams on his UK stadium tour. They are currently preparing for the release of their third album, ‘Something in the Water’, due out September 2019.

Since their inception in 2012, ‘Rhythm of the 90’s’ have become THE act to get any party started previously playing at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Latitude as well as main stage at Love Saves the Day, Mutiny and Victorious Festival – and now, lucky for us, the FREE Dartford Festival.

Rocking out in Central Park will also be ‘Who Are You UK’ – the UK’s hottest tribute to The Who. From the early hits of the mid-60’s to the rock classics of the 70’s and 80’s – every one is an absolute work of genius from composer Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

Finally, Nick Corbin has spent the last year touring with the likes of The Milk, Stone Foundation, Corduroy and The Spitfires. Alongside an even busier live schedule this year, Nick began recording his debut solo album in March.  Expect an eclectic set of hard-hitting, soulful tunes with a distinctly British edge and keep your eyes peeled for new releases later this year.

Always extremely proud of the Dartford Festival, Councillor Jeremy Kite, Leader of Dartford Borough Council said, “Dartford Festival is the highlight of the Central Park 2019 calendar. This year we’re welcoming some amazing big name acts to the main stage, as well as The Dunwells, Rhythm of the 90s and Nick Corbin, who are no strangers to playing to large crowds and some of the best tributes to the biggest bands the world has ever seen.

We work very hard to make it a fantastic family event and our Community Stage sponsored by Howarth Timber will also be busy all weekend celebrating the groups, clubs and talented local people who make Dartford a very special place. We’re very proud of Dartford Festival and every year just gets better and better.”
