Cuppa, cake and safety advice will be on offer this Friday and Saturday as Swanley fire station opens it doors to support The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Firefighters are inviting local people to join them at the fire station in London Road, Swanley on Friday, 25 and Saturday, 26 (September) between 10.30am and 12.30pm to help raise funds for people facing cancer.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s Crew Manager, Jody Morgan said: “Many of the crew’s families or friends have been directly touched by cancer, so the work of the charity is close to their hearts. We’ll be serving up coffee, tea and cakes from 10.30am onwards, for donations to this worth-while cause.”
Firefighters will be bringing along some baking of their own to help raise money for the charity.
Jody added: “Come along and enjoy a cuppa with us – we can also talk to you about keeping safe and arrange home fire safety visits for those who need our help the most. If you can’t make it but would like to learn more about our free safety advice and services, call our home safety advisors on 0800 923 7000 (its free from landlines), or email”
