Local care recipients praise caregivers’ dedication throughout the pandemic

Home Instead Dartford is celebrating extraordinary client satisfaction scores, with 100% of clients saying that their caregiver has kept them safe during the pandemic. The outstanding results come a year into one of the toughest crises the social care sector has ever seen.

In an independent survey run by WorkBuzz, the at-home care company has received wonderful feedback from both clients and caregivers, who believe the company has kept them safe, comfortable and informed. Due to the positive feedback received, Home Instead Dartford has also been awarded a 5* Employer Award!

Throughout the pandemic, Home Instead Dartford has had to contend with new guidance from Public Health England, especially with regards to PPE, as well as deal with the everyday challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic, making the client satisfaction scores even more praiseworthy.

Christina Uppenkamp, owner of Home Instead Dartford, says: “Our team of caregivers have demonstrated their important roles as key workers over the past twelve months, and all of them have done us proud with the dedication they’ve shown towards keeping their clients safe. These exceptional survey responses are a testament to how hard they have worked throughout the pandemic.”

One caregiver commented: “I feel 100% supported and valued. I know I only have to pick up the phone to get any guidance I feel I need. I look forward to going to work every day, I realise that I am making a positive difference and I hope I stay with the company for a long time.”

The survey also revealed that the absolute majority of clients say that their caregiver is well-matched to their care needs. Home Instead believes in personalised care, tailored to the individual. Not only that, but caregivers are also assigned to clients based on similar personality traits, ensuring that a fruitful relationship develops.

Clients are supported to live as independently as possible, by caregivers that they come to know well and who visit for a minimum of an hour at a time. Caregivers’ duties range from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, shopping and errands.
