Bluewater has announced that leading retailer NEXT will significantly grow its presence at the Kent-based shopping centre by tripling its footprint. NEXT’s Bluewater store will become one of its largest stores in the UK once the doors open in 2026.
The state-of-the-art store will offer an enhanced product selection, including men’s, women’s and childrenswear, alongside homeware and a café. NEXT will also relocate the American based global beauty brand, Bath and Body Works, into a 2,000 sq ft neighbouring store.
NEXT is upsizing from its existing 44,600 sq ft store into a 133,000 sq ft space which was previously occupied by House of Fraser. The current NEXT and Bath and Body Works stores will continue to trade normally throughout 2025.
James Waugh, Centre Director at Bluewater, commented: “We’re thrilled to see NEXT significantly expanding its presence here at Bluewater, following many successful years in its current space. This move not only reinforces Bluewater’s position as a leading retail destination but also highlights the continued confidence in bricks-and-mortar retail that we’re seeing.
“We will be announcing more details on the new NEXT store in due course, with an expected opening date to be shared as soon as possible.”
This announcement follows multiple iconic brands joining Bluewater’s retail line-up over the past 6 months, including SpaceNK, HARIBO, Sephora, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Aesop, Lindex, and Peter Alexander.
