A local Hextable based charity has been awarded the great accolade of being a finalist in the Kent Charity Awards to be held at the Mercure Hotel in Maidstone on 16th March 2017. The aim of these awards is to showcase the hard work and perseverance that charities and voluntary groups undertake to make the lives of others better. There are currently no similar awards in the county and the Kent Charity Awards have become an important date in the third sector diaries. The charity awards are open to both small and large charities whether a branch of a national charity, a small community based charity or a voluntary group. Katrina Adams, Operations Director at Parents Consortium said
“We are so proud to have got this far. Our charity work means such a great deal to the families of disabled children that we support. We have quotes from parents saying “I was broken” before we got involved with the family and now that same parent has said “my life is now worth living with your help”. We thought that impact statement was reward enough, but to be a finalist is the icing on the cake”
