The Dartford Business Awards are open for 2022

by | Sep 9, 2022 | Dartford Business, Dartford News, Local Comment

After three years away, the Dartford Business Awards are back to celebrate the inspiring companies and individuals who have given so much to the borough.

This will be a special year for the awards, which will recognise both the incredible contribution of the NHS and all key workers that helped get us through the pandemic, as well as the businesses great and small who worked through unprecedented conditions to keep us moving forward, with four new special awards for which we invite your nominations.

As ever, Dartford Borough Council is organising the awards with several core partners, sponsors and local ambassadors. There are a number of different awards categories; all of which are free to enter and designed to cater for every size of business, from the smallest to the largest in the borough.

This year’s categories are:

  • Best Owner-Managed Business – sponsored by Thomson Snell & Passmore and The Nucleus Business & Innovation  Centre, Oxford Innovation Space
  • Employee of the Year – sponsored by The Learning Shop
  • Young Person of the Year – sponsored by North Kent College and Leigh Academies Trust / LAT Apprenticeships
  • The Dartford Living Customer’s Choice Award
  • Shop of the Year – sponsored by Bluewater
  • Covid Heroes – sponsored by Bluewater, Urbaser and Europa Worldwide Group

Entrants and winners can expect to receive a number of business-building benefits, such as promotion through media and networking opportunities. To enter your business into the Dartford Business Awards, you must be based in the Dartford Borough Council business rates areas, and must have been trading for a full year to January 1st, 2022.

Leader of the Council Jeremy Kite MBE said: “We couldn’t bring the Dartford Business Awards back without thanking all of the local companies for their incredible work over the past two years. At times I’m sure it has been uncertain, but every one of them was committed to serving the people of Dartford and for that I am eternally grateful.

We also want to thank the other heroes who stepped up to help us all during the worst depths of the pandemic. That’s why we’ve introduced four new award categories to make sure they get the recognition they deserve.”
