Tom Parker – star of The Jump – says you are ‘wanted’ at ellenor’s first Colour Run

by | Mar 6, 2016 | Dartford Charities

Tom Parker, ellenor Patron, member of The Wanted and star of Channel 4’s The Jump, is set to blow the starting whistle at ellenor’s very first Colour Run this coming May Day!

This latest craze in fun runs is heading to The Hop Farm in Paddock Wood and the 5km event is open to the whole family (from eight years upwards). Participants joining the singing star will all be given a white ellenor t-shirt and, as they make their way round the course, will get covered in coloured paint powder at various paint stations. The result at 5km will be a mass of smiling, colourful supporters.

“I’m about to return from six weeks in Austria for The Jump and I’m pleased that my feet will finally be back on solid ground, especially now I’m taking part in ellenor’s Colour Run,” says Tom. “It promises to be a fantastic event and entrants can run, dance or even walk if they prefer! So, get all your friends together and help make a difference to families facing terminal illness in Kent.”

Being held on Sunday 1 May – the Colour Run will bring a touch of May Day madness to Kent. Tickets cost just £27 per person or £25 when registering more than three people at the same time – so why not get a group together? Participants will be raising money for ellenor Children’s Hospice Care (formerly chYps) – which provides care for more than 120 children and their families in the comfort of their own home.

As a charity, not part of the NHS, ellenor needs to raise over £6.7 million each year to provide its round the clock care for families facing terminal illness. This includes providing medical treatments such as chemotherapy in the home for children, which prevents lengthy or stressful stays in hospital and means families can stay together.

“We are so excited that our Patron Tom Parker is taking a morning out of his busy schedule to take part in our very first Colour Run,” says Hayley Brown, Events Manager at ellenor. “What better way to mark May Day in Kent than getting outside and celebrating fun and friendship – while getting covered in paint!”
