The February edition of Dartford Living Magazine is out now. However, if you’re unable to locate your free copy, here is the latest edition of Walking With The Darts:
Hello again, welcome to another edition of Walking With The Darts, a monthly update on all things related to Dartford FC, courtesy of Dartford Living Magazine.
Before I begin, I’d like to wish you all a very healthy and happy 2025 on behalf of Dartford FC, Dartford FC Women, Dartford Living Magazine, and myself. I hope you all had a blessed festive period, and hope you included attending our fixtures as a big part of your new year resolutions!
As I write this, Ady Pennock’s team has enjoyed a good rest after our fixture against Chichester City was postponed due to the adverse weather and an unusually frozen pitch here in Kent.
With preparations ongoing for our trip to Wingate & Finchley this upcoming weekend, the players are full of confidence after remaining unbeaten since mid-October. The Darts have won their previous six straight games, the last of which was against a very tough Whitehawk side. However, the 2-1 victory will always be remembered for the superb long-range goal scored by skipper Josh Hill! Do head over to our official YouTube channel to watch it, you won’t be disappointed.
The excellent form has resulted in Ady Pennock being rewarded with the Isthmian Premier League Manager of The Month Award, which is most certainly well deserved. When you consider everything that has been going on at the club during recent times, Ady is most certainly doing an outstanding job. So, please join me in congratulating the gaffer!
Over in the Dartford FC Women’s camp, the ladies returned from their Christmas break to begin 2025 with a stunning 10-goal thriller against Aylesford Ladies in the League Cup.
A brace from Emily Vaughan and goals from Amy Russ, Brionne Fowle, Shauni Griffiths plus an own goal ensured that Connor Dymond and Martin McCarthy’s outfit progressed to the Quarter-Finals after a 6-4 victory.
The ladies return to league action this weekend, where they’ll host Ashford United Ladies at Bericote Powerhouse Princes Park. Please do come and show your support, as Chana Hinds and Co continue the challenge of fighting for the London & South-East Regional Women’s Football League title.
Away from the pitch, the club held its first Fan’s Forum recently. The event was held in the evening, whereby supporters and staff were invited to attend to listen to Chairman Steve Irving, Directors, and many members of staff speak about many aspects relating to the club and its future.
During the two-hour talk, many subjects were touched upon, such as the squad budget, club finances, future plans and projection, the club in the community, the club shop, the Dartford FC Supporters Association, plus much more. The event was also streamed live for those who were unable to attend, and was an excellent first attempt in what will be a vital and positive meeting between the club and its supporters. Please do read the meeting’s overview on our official website to find out more.
Please remember to keep an eye on all teams’ progress via our social media platforms and the official club website throughout the season. And as always, thank you for your continued support and thanks for reading.
