Dartford home care company celebrates home care with fundraising event.

Local home care company, Home Instead Dartford, recently hosted a celebration day- recognising the dedication of their caregivers and celebrating their hard work. Caregivers and clients were invited to join the celebrations- with a raffle, sweet treats and refreshments. The company was delighted that local councillor, Nicola Taylor popped by to attend the celebration.

The local Marks and Spencer store donated gifts for the raffle, which raised £119.13 for ellenor, a hospice providing care to people living with terminal illnesses throughout Kent, including Children’s Hospice Care. Ram Chandra Thapa and Christina Uppenkamp, owners of Home Instead, threw the celebration to coincide with Celebrating Homecare Day- a new initiative from the Homecare Association and the Care Workers Charity, to not only celebrate the amazing work of home carers, but to recognise their roles as key workers within the community.

Christina comments: “We had a lovely time celebrating our amazing caregivers, all enjoying some delicious cakes and treats, as well as hosting a fun raffle to raise money for charity.“ A special thanks goes to our recruiter, Jennie who took the lead on organising the day which was such a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our caregivers and the amazing work they do. At Home Instead, we like to continually recognise the hard work of our caregivers through gifts and awards- showing how much we appreciate the key role they play.”

The celebration also offered advice and information on their care services, providing more information about the number of caring vacancies they have available. Ram comments: “Our caregivers worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, providing key care to those who needed it most and keeping our local older community safe at home. It was a period where people began to really recognise the key roles of caregivers across the country, and began treating care workers with the same respect and pride as NHS workers.“

Many overlook care work but it is a really rewarding role with career progression opportunities- many of our team started out as caregivers and now work in administrative or managerial roles within the company. We have a number of roles available at a time where many have lost their roles due to the ending of furlough.”If you want to find out more about Home Instead Dartford, the home care services they provide or the caregiving vacancies currently available, please call 01322 923750 or visit https://www.homeinstead.co.uk/dartford/.
