Brad Ely has an incurable genetic condition called Huntington’s Disease. He lives in Michigan USA. Because of the rapid decline in his physical and cognitive abilities his UK family, based in Dartford, are planning to raise money for him to travel to the UK in the summer of 2016 with his wife and two teenage children.
Brad last visited England 25 years ago, and would love for his family to see where his mother, Alex came from. The last time his UK family saw him was when they travelled to Michigan, in 2007, for his Mother’s funeral, after she lost her battle with the same disease. We are putting on a special fundraising event at the Stage Door Pub in Hythe Street, Dartford on Saturday 17th October. Amongst the family-friendly entertainment such as a variety of games, raffle and fun there will be a special performance by Lucy and Maisie Allen, under-11 World Streetdance Champions. Topping off the day’s events will be live acoustic performance from 3 of Kent’s greatest current young musicians – Chris Dabner (Jukebox Monkey), Morne Gabriels and headliner Tommy Smith (Leogun). Leogun released their debut album ‘By The Reins’ in 2013, and have toured with Elton John, Queens of the Stone Age, Extreme, and most recently Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The event starts at 2pm and will be a fantastic day with activities and enjoyment for everyone!
