Jake Makes a Special Wish on His Birthday After Spending Half His Life Homeless

by | Oct 26, 2017 | Dartford Charities

Dedicated staff and volunteers at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in Brands Hatch arranged a very special 1st birthday party this week for one of their residents who has sadly spent half his life without a home.

Jake the Staffordshire Bull Terrier celebrated his 1st birthday by having a doggy party with his best friends at Battersea, a delicious dog-friendly cake and a gift-wrapped present to open.

Jake came into Battersea Brands Hatch back in April this year. His previous owner had bought him as a puppy from the internet and quickly realised that they weren’t ready for the responsibilities of looking after Jake. They brought him into the Kent rescue centre, where he has been ever since.

Now he’s reached his first milestone, Jake is ready and waiting for his new place to call home, so he doesn’t have to spend any more birthdays without a family. He’s hoping his birthday wish will come true very soon.

Jake is a sweet young dog who has spent the majority of his puppy life being passed around through no fault of his own. He’s looking for some stability, as he’s very much still a puppy at heart and looking for a quiet home where he can learn the wonders of what it’s like to live a proper doggy life with his new owners. He’ll also need someone who is willing to put some work into his training that he’s missed out on.
Anna Hemmings, Centre Manager at Battersea Brands Hatch, said: “What we all really want for Jake is for his birthday wish to come true – somewhere he can call home and someone to give him the love he deserves.”
