March of the Mods- Dartford 29th Feb 2020 – raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust

by | Feb 26, 2020 | Dartford Charities, Dartford Entertainment, Dartford News, Entertainment, Health, Welfare, What's On?, Where to go locally

The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity in the UK dedicated to helping young people age 13 to 24 impacted by cancer.

They help 7 young people who are diagnosed with cancer every day, supporting them before, during and after treatment. Teenagers and young adults with cancer are significantly underrepresented in cancer research, with just 14-30% of 15-24 year olds accessing clinical trials, compared with 50-70% of children.

Young people with cancer also have poorer survival rates for the same types of cancers as children. And many experience delays around diagnosis and access to key services such as counselling.

What better way for Dartford, with its history of great music and youth culture, to show its support by coming to the very first local “March of the Mods” event at the Dartford (Skaford) Social club on Saturday 29th February 2020.

March of the Mod events take place across the country, inspired by The Who’s support of this fantastic charity but this is the first time we have held the event in Dartford.

There will be bands, a scooter ride out, raffles, vintage and vinyl stalls, a selection of local DJs including some of the younger generation. All involved have given their time and services for free.

The event starts at 2pm and goes on until late (with free parking opposite from 5pm).

Your support could make a huge difference to the lives of so many young people across the UK.
