“Be prepared to laugh out loud one moment and almost jump out of your seat the next.”

It was good to be alive watching Wish You Were Dead at the Orchard Theatre tonight.

Wish You Were Dead is a dark comedy thriller that takes the audience on an exciting and entertaining adventure. DSI Roy Grace and Cleo Morley go on their first family holiday together for a well earned break from solving crime.

They head to France where things don’t go as anticipated. With a peculiar French hostess at the eerie chateau, they begin to wonder if they are in hell rather than paradise.

There were fabulous performances by Clive Mantle, George Rainsford and Katie McGlynn but every member of the cast balanced the delivery of dark and comic moments to perfection.

The set was inspired in the way it portrayed different parts of the chateau, without involving moving scenery, which allowed for the story to unfold without interruption.

If you enjoy crime stories, you are in for a thrill – even  if you have not seen the television series or read the books. Be prepared to laugh out loud one moment and almost jump out of your seat the next.

The show runs until Saturday 3rd June so don’t hesitate to take your shot and blow your chance at getting tickets.
